DirectVoxx understands the supply chain challenges in the automotive electronics sector. The need for connectivity and advanced functionality at increasingly reduced costs provides fertile territory for the DirectVoxx virtual automotive infotainment framework. Starting with SmartDock™™ technology which enables existing CE and Android-based infotainment systems to host the customer’s smartphone applications as though they were built-in, DirectVoxx is offering a clear path for brands, OEMs, ISVs and CMs to implement virtual, Internet-connected applications. For existing CE devices on which the USB stack is connected to either an ARM or MIPS processor, the DirectVoxx SmartDock™™ framework can be implemented without a hardware spin.
DirectVoxx will also be offering an inexpensive, Android-based infotainment platform for Q4 2010 that incorporates SmartDock™ along with Bluetooth hands-free telephony, A2DP audio streaming and a fully qualified AM/FM/HD radio driver. This design will support both in-dash and dock form factors supporting any manner of compliant applications. In addition to hosting virtual, mobile-based applications, the design includes DirectVoxx advanced speech recognition, noise reduction, high quality text-to-speech(TTS) and the DirectVoxx advertising platform.
